What does a podiatrist do?

Podiatrists are highly skilled health professionals who have been trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They also prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relieve pain and treat infections.

I have mobility problems and can't use stairs - do you have a downstairs surgery?

Yes we have a ground floor surgery available for those who need it. Please inform the receptionist at time of booking.

I am a diabetic - can you treat me?

Yes - we specialise in assessment and treatment of diabetics and will liaise with your GP about your condition and treatment.

I am on warfarin or aspirin - can you treat me?

Yes - all medication is taken into account during our assessment of your conditions and our treatment is altered accordingly.

Can you treat in-growing toenails?

Yes - either by routine clearing of the painful nail by cutting and filing of the border of the nail or by surgical removal of that part of the nail using local anaesthetic.

Do you treat children?

Yes - you are welcome to bring your child for assessment. Our Podiatrists will give advice and treatment where it is needed. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

What are orthotics and why would I need them?

Orthotics are special insoles placed inside the shoe to correct abnormal functioning of the foot and lower limb by holding the foot in the correct position. They are used for conditions such as flat feet, heel, ankle, knee or hip pain.

Can you provide me with orthotics?

Yes we can provide you with orthotics made specifically for your feet or alternatively we have a range of ready made orthotics.

I can't come to the clinic - can someone come to my house?

We provide house visits to those who find it impossible to come to the clinic. Appointments may be made by phoning the above number. We will travel approximately 5 miles. Distances further than that will incur additional costs.
